The Official Domain Registry of the Philippines

General Policies

1. PH Domain Names will be given on a first-paid, first-served basis.

2. One and 2 character domain names are disallowed.

As few as three and as many as 63 characters (not including .PH) are permitted. Some mail programs do not accept more than 26 characters in a combined TLD and second level domain name, so we therefore do not recommend more than 23 characters for the second level domain (plus .PH = 26). Names may not begin or end with a dash, and upper case and lower case are treated as lower case only. Besides the - character, only alphanumeric characters a-z, 0-9 are accepted. Spaces and any other characters in a name will not be accepted. Names with only numeric characters and names with spaces will not be accepted.

3. Lifetime domains - i.e., those registered prior to October 1, 1999 - shall still be subject to the six-month activation rule. That is, we should be able to send mail to postmaster@domain.com.ph and receive a reply from an address other than the MAILER-DAEMON. Otherwise, domain shall be forfeited due to non-activation/non-use. If a lifetime domain, however, files for modification and therefore transforms into an annual (regular) domain, the postmaster rule shall no longer be in effect.

4. For lifetime domains - registered prior to Oct 1, 1999 - You can choose one of the following options:

4.1 Convert your lifetime domain to regular status.
A fee of $70 fee for the first 2 years of Domain Name Service will be assessed for lifetime domains. This fee must be paid before the modification can take place. Once a domain is converted from lifetime status to regular status, subsequent Registrant modifications will be free.

4.2 Maintain lifetime status, provided that:
A fee of PhP1350.00 per modification must be paid before the modification can take place. Lifetime domain will not be eligible to avail of the value-added features.

4.3 Lifetime domain status is non-transferable.
If a lifetime domain is modified to reflect a new registrant, it shall automatically be converted into a regular domain subject to renewal fees. A fee of $70 must be paid before the registrant information can be modified. This fee shall cover the first two (2) years of Domain Name Service.
